Sitka, Alaska can only be reached by boat or plane, and the roads only extend along the coast approximately ten miles in each direction. It is very picturesque, with a backdrop of high mountains.
Some unusual facts: a Russian princess is buried in the cemetery, and this was where magnetic north was discovered.
