Haines, Alaska

The highway from Haines Junction, Yukon to Haines Alaska is up there with the most scenic drives ever.  My photos don't do it justice as we had a very grey sky.  I would love to see it in better weather as there seemed to be glaciers and craggy mountain peaks at every turn.

A moose cow and her twins added a bit of excitement.  We had to hurriedly throw on the brakes as we had just come round a corner.  (The height of the snow pole gives an indication of snow levels in winter!)

Just before Haines there is a valley where every autumn bald eagles gather to feast on salmon.  There are a few pairs left in town for the summer.

The skies cleared unexpectedly to show off the small boat harbour at it's best.
