Kluane National Park Ski Plane Flight, Yukon

Today the weather was good so we did a ski plane flight into the Kluane National Park, Yukon.  The plane was a 1966 Helio Courier and had ski landing gear as well as wheels so we could land on a glacier.  Our pilot was a kiwi from Tekapo and wow, what a great morning it was!

The mountain behind us is Mt Logan, Canada's highest mountain at 19, 551 ft.  (Photo by Tom, our pilot)  We are on an icefield, the largest after the polar icefields.

Taking photos out of a plane is challenging, wings, reflection, lighting, composition etc, so when I get one that is in focus I'm happy.

I like the patterns made by the moraine from these huge glaciers.
