We crossed the border at Chief Mountain today, into the US to go to Glacier National Park. Unfortunately, when we arrived at the park we found that there is a large wildfire which has caused the Going to the Sun Highway to be closed and hikers to be evacuated from the back country. We had planned to drive this road tomorrow, but have now cancelled some accommodation bookings and made some new plans. Once you head east from the Rocky Mountains you are quickly on the prairies in Alberta. I love the happy, yellow colour of the canola fields. :-)

It is also very windy, and there are lots and lots of windmills. These are just a few.
