Wallowa Mountains, Oregon

The Wallowa Mountains in northeastern Oregon have snow covered peaks still.  We went up Mt Howard in a long gondola to 8,000 ft and there were many other taller ones around us.  Unfortunately a weather front arrived, and we had snow and hail up there.  Lots of fun.  Up on the top of the mountain were lots of squirrels with orange bellies.  I must brush up on my squirrel species to find out about these ones.

The grass is bright green with the new spring growth.  (I have not enhanced it!)

The white dots are actually snow that was falling.
