The Wallowa Mountains in northeastern Oregon have snow covered peaks still. We went up Mt Howard in a long gondola to 8,000 ft and there were many other taller ones around us. Unfortunately a weather front arrived, and we had snow and hail up there. Lots of fun. Up on the top of the mountain were lots of squirrels with orange bellies. I must brush up on my squirrel species to find out about these ones.
