Balloons over Waikato 2016

Balloons over Waikato 2016 was held over three days, but I only drove down for the Saturday morning 7.30 am start.  Unfortunately high winds meant the balloons had to stay tethered to the ground but they still put on a colourful and impressive display.   This group were the first ones to inflate.

It is quite impressive when the flames shoot out of the gas burners.  

Each balloon had one or two pilots in the basket plus several crew hanging onto the end of the ropes.
