Moraine Lake, Banff National Park

Moraine Lake in Banff National Park was one of my absolute favorite places on our Canada trip.  There were several reasons for this.  One was that you had to drive 17 k down a no exit road, which meant the crowds were less than it's much better known sister lake, Lake Louise.  Also, there is only one small lodge at the end of the road, no enormous hotel dominating the landscape (again, Lake Louise).  But the best thing is the colour of the water and those steep mountains surrounding the lake.  And we didn't even see it with blue sky!
