Maligne Lake, Jasper National Park, Alberta
The name is a bit of a misnomer. Evidently the river was named Maligne River because an early trapper had a near death experience crossing the river, "maligne" meaning evil in French. Our boat trip on Maligne Lake, however, went to one of the most beautiful places I could imagine.
