Treescape, Townsville, Queensland

This treescape was taken from a bird hide on the "Town Common" on the outskirts of Townsville.  The word "common" to me implies a grass lawn where games of cricket could be played.  (English version, I guess.)  Nothing could be further from this "common" which was basically just bush.  Although I did see lots of birds from the hide, they were too far away to photograph, so I settled for the trees.  It's the colours that appeal to me in this image.

This one is taken from the same spot but looking more into the sun.  Although there is a blue wing kookaburra dead centre, the photo is more about the shapes and colours.
