Hamilton Island, Whitsundays, Queensland

We didn't set out to go to Hamilton Island, we set out to go to Whitehaven Beach, which is said to be Australia's "best" beach.  On the way there the boat trip was so rough in the Whitsunday Passage that waves were whipping over the top deck of the large catamaran ferry.  We decided to quit while we were ahead (i.e. breakfast still in stomach where it belonged), and spend our time on Hamilton Island instead.  The ferry stopped there first so we just got off early.
