Doubtful Sound can get up to 9 metres of rain a year, so we were incredibly lucky that it stayed dry for us, (even though it was forecast).
Doubtful Sound, seen from the top of Wilmott Pass, which separates Lake Manapouri from Doubtful Sound.
On the way out to sea.
The Tasman Sea was very calm, so the boat was able to go out the New Zealand fur seal colony at the mouth of the fiord. (Although it is named Doubtful Sound, it is in fact a fiord, as it was formed by a glacier, not a river.)
