Golden Throne, Capital Reef National Park

This walk was brilliant!  Our track notes said it was best (for photography) in the afternoon, so we 'Chimney Rock' in the morning.  Unfortunately it was threatening thunderstorms in the afternoon so we set off straight after lunch.  We put the pace on because we didn't want to be caught out on the top of the mountains in a thunderstorm, and also we had to drive through the Capital Wash road (pictured yesterday) which is a gravel road but turns into the river course after rain.  We were lucky, we could see it raining to the north, but it didn't come our way.  I didn't relax until we were back onto the tarmac though.

The 'Golden Throne' is a yellow coloured dome and is the highest point in this part Capital Reef.  Our walk didn't climb it, but took us to this point where we had a great view of it.
