Lake Powell was created by damming the Colorado River at Page, Arizona. It is a huge lake with lots of canyons etc. and is used quite extensively by houseboats and boats during summer. The water level is way down at the moment, and areas once underwater are now exposed and growing green grass. There is a boat launch ramp at Hite, but it is nowhere near the water now and cannot be used. The scenery here is stunning though, with lots of red buttes.
