Maori Rock Carvings

These rock carvings are on the rocky coastline of Lake Taupo and can only be accessed by boat (or helicopter).  They were commissioned by the Queen Elizabeth Arts Council in 1980 and were created by members of the local Tuwharetoa tribe.
