Maroon Bells, Aspen

Maroon Bells Lake and hike are very popular attractions, especially in fall.  We made an early start but so did many other people.  This has to be one of the most beautiful sights on any continent.

Early morning.  Looking at other photos on the web, there is much less snow/ice than other years.

About three hours later after our walk.

You really need to take a 180 deg photo, as you are surrounded by mountains.

We walked up to Crater Lake, which was looking in need of some serious rain.  The vista was really hard to photograph as I couldn't fit everything in.  While sitting enjoying the view a rockfall could be heard in the distance.

The only way to photograph the reflection was to change to portrait orientation.
