Olympic National Park, Washington

Olympic National Park is west of Seattle, in Washington state and was a wonderful place to spend a sunny, warm Saturday.  We drove up 5,000 ft to Hurricane Ridge, then walked a short trail up to some high points.  On the day Hurricane Harvey was battering Houston, Texas with rain and strong winds, Hurricane Ridge was just idyllic. My photos do not really do justice to the panorama.

Black-tailed deer, I think.  He was only about 5 meters away, but I couldn't go off trail for a better shot.

New term for the day:  "sickletop lousewort".  You can google it yourself if you want to know what it is.
