Pollution, Loch Long, Arrochar, Scotland

We are staying tonight in the small village of Arrochar, on Loch Long, (which is not a lake, but connected to the sea).  After we had checked in I went for a walk and was horrified to discover all this rubbish at the head of the lake.  What is the use of having cutesy houses with colourful gardens when this is what is happening to the seashore.

The brown here is dead and dying leaves and vegetation, no problem, but all the white spots through it are bits of rubbish and plastic bottles.  This is not a built up area, but the tide must carry all the debris up and deposit it here.
