Now is the time the Humpback Whales move from down south up to the warmer waters of the tropics up the eastern coast of Australia. I had a wonderful whale watching trip, with the whales putting on a great display. Unfortunately the sea was quite choppy, making for tricky photography, but you can only do your best.

| The boat is supposed to stay 25 metres away from the whales, but no-one told the whale that! This one was really interested and surfaced right in front of the boat. I must admit it crossed my mind that I hope he/she didn't come up UNDER the boat! |

| This one put on a tail thwacking display, bringing it's tail down on the surface of the water ten or fifteen times in the one place! It is approximately 5 metres from our boat. |
