Plain of Six Glaciers Teahouse, Lake Louise

Although the Plain of Six Glaciers Teahouse is not the final destination of the hike, (that is a further 1.5 k) it is a wonderful place to stop and have a well earned drink and snack.  The building was built in 1924.  When we were there back in June,we happened to be their first of approximately 500 customers they were expecting that day, and were able to chat a little to the owner and staff.  They have one helicopter drop of supplies per summer season, and two or three times a week the staff (a couple of uni students on their summer break), hike out to Lake Louise (5.5 k away) and carry the perishables back in by backpack.  We enjoyed a delicious slice of home baked apple pie made on site, presumable in a woodfired range.

This is the view from just a little bit further up the trail.
