White Heron Breeding Sanctuary, Okarito, Westland

The white heron sanctuary at Okarito, on the west coast of the South Island is only accessible by a guided tour, but for me it was worth every cent.  After a mini bus ride, a jet boat, and then a walk through the bush, you arrive at a hide across the water from the breeding colony.  My telephoto lens came in handy to get these shots.
