Kamahi Flower (Weinmannia racemosa)

The kamahi tree is a prolific native New Zealand tree, found from Auckland south.  It is especially abundant on the western side of the Southern Alps, and often grows in association with the southern rata.  They were flowering profusely in January.   It is closely related to tawhero (Weinmannia silvicola).
