Hokitika, Westland

Hokitika was where it rained, or rather DELUGED!  It had rained all morning, normal, wet rain, but by lunchtime it had become heavier.  We decided it was time to retire to a café for lunch, as did every other person in Hokitika.  Luckily we got a carpark across the road from a café, got drenched crossing the road, but were safely inside when it came out of the heavens, and continued for the next hour.  Inside, the noise was deafening, but at least it was dry.  There is no other rain like West Coast rain!  This photo was taken ten minutes after it had stopped.

Both this photo and the pink hay bales photo were taken through the car windscreen.
