Lake Chelan, Washington State

Lake Chelan, which was formed by a glacier, is the second deepest lake in the United States.  We went the whole length of it, 50 miles, and back again in the "Lady of the Lake II".  The last 25 miles is only accessible by boat or float plane.  The little town at the end of the lake, Stehekin, has 85 permanent residents who winter over, but a much larger population in the summer time.  A wonderful day out.

This colour is exactly what the water was like.
