Tokaanu Thermal Area, Turangi

 After heavy rain during the night, and with a weather forecast which included a severe weather warning for the volcanic plateau today, we were pleasantly surprised and have not received a drop of rain all day.  This meant we could get out and about.  The walk in the Tokaanu Thermal Area is not a long one but it is still worth it.   I thought the mud pools seemed a bit waterlogged but the colours of the springs hadn't suffered at all.

Don't fancy falling in this one.
