Barking Owl

This barking owl was roosting in a large tree at Home Valley Ranch, where we stayed the night.

(There was actually two, a pair, but this is the best photo.)  It was early morning when the photo was taken, and the owl definitely was keen to get to sleep.  I didn't hear it bark.
