Date Palms, Indio, near Palm Springs, California

There are several date farms here and in Palm Springs.  We visited one on the recommendation of our guide book, and yes, the fresh dates were delicious.  The guide book also said the 'date shake' was a must, so we ordered one each.  Silly move, this is America remember, where portion sizes are big, and these were REALLY big.  The shakes weren't even very nice.  I'll stick to the fresh dates next time.
