New Zealanders don't generally get excited by sightings of sheep, but these Big Horn Sheep are kind of special. Firstly, they are wild and live on the mountain tops. Secondly, they are not often seen. So we count ourselves really lucky these ones. They were a couple of hundred meters away. There certainly wasn't any grass around for food, but they seemed to be browsing on desert shrubs.
