American Crocodile, Tortuguero, Costa Rica

This crocodile was sunning him/her self on the banks of the river as we went past in the boat on the way into Tortuguero.  Evidently having it's mouth open is a way of temperature regulation.  I am intrigued by the way it's mouth seems to be lit up by the sun.
