Tufa Formations, Mono Lake, California

Tufa towers are formed when calcium-rich freshwater springs bubble up into the carbonate-saturated alkaline lake water.  The co-mingling results in limestone formations, the tufa towers.  The brine shrimp which inhabit the lake make it a prime bird nesting site.

Jet trails criss-cross the sky. ( Las Vegas and Reno airports probably.)
