Lombard Street, San Francisco

The steep block of this street has eight tight hairpin bends.  It also has well-kept old houses and gardens.  There is a footpath either side which goes straight up and down, without the hairpins.  Not recommended for those in high heels.  (Yes, we did walk down and then back up again.  I had flat shoes, but I did see one women attempting it in high heels.  She didn't get very far.)
