Snow Canyon, near St George, Utah

I haven't been able to find out why it is called Snow Canyon.  Yes, there were white rocks, but also red rocks, and black lava rocks from a volcanic eruption 27,000 years ago.  But no snow, and it was hot - probably somewhere between 35 - 40 deg C.

Lunch spot.  That's the black lava mixed in with the red sandstone rock.

This fellow was enjoying the sun.  I think it is a Leopard Lizard.
