Cordova, Alaska

We went to Cordova, which involved either a flight or a ferry trip and we chose the flight, because we wanted to drive a spectacular road to the "Million Dollar Bridge" and the Childs glacier.  Unfortunately this never happened as one of the many bridges over part of the Copper River was closed as it had been deemed unsafe.  We enjoyed our few days here, nevertheless.

I never did manage to find out why this early aviator had a nickname of "Mudhole"!
