Mandarin Duck

This species gets my "Best Dressed Duck" award! 

Originally native to south-east Asia, there are now ferral populations in many other countries including Great Brittain.  In New Zealand they are confined to a few wildlife reserves.  This one was at Staglands, near Upper Hutt.
