Denali National Park Wildlife

I won't have internet reception for a couple of days but hopefully will return to civilization on Wednesday (Alaska time).

This grey wolf had just crossed the stream.  Note wild flowers in background.

Artic Squirrel

Savage River, where the wolf and squirrel were.  Note sod roof of toilet in bottom left hand corner. (A sod roof is one made from earth and has grass growing on it.)

We were on foot when we suddenly noticed this bull moose about 15 m away.  He seemed enormous!  We backed away and luckily he crossed diagonally in front of us.

A beaver dam had blocked off the whole lake with the water level below the dam at least 30cm lower than the main lake.  Unfortunately we didn't see any beavers.
