Pitcher Plant

The Carnivorous Plant Society held a show last weekend.  These pitcher plants attract flies and moths with a secretion on the rim of the "pitcher".  When the insect sips on the nectar, it gets woozy and falls down the tube part.  This is waxy on the inside which prevents the insect from crawling out.  Enzymes then digest the insect which is absorbed by the plant.
