Mission Socorro, El Paso

Founded in 1680, this Catholic mission church was originally in Mexico, south of the Rio Grande river.  After massive floods in 1829, the waters subsided leaving a new main channel, and the damaged church on the northern bank of the river, the U.S. side.

The front is a facade, and the main church has a flat roof behind.
