Bandera Ice Cave, New Mexico

A volcanic eruption 10,000 years ago left a lava tube, which collapsed.  This ice never melts even in the hottest of summers.  The temperature in the cave is a constant 31 deg F.  The area is at about 8,000 ft elevation and is close to the continental divide.
